    It shows:

    0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
    1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no

Still no wireless. Only the wired is shown on the panel.

It is NOT hard blocked!!! So it seems it certainly is related to the Broadcom driver. Now do:
    Code:
    sudo modprobe wl
    rfkill list all
    Now what is the report?

    Re: WIFI issues Broadcom

It is pretty clearly an issue with the bcmwl-kernel-source driver. Without it, you are not blocked; with it, you are. Let's see what version you have:
    Code:
    sudo dpkg -s bcmwl-kernel-source | grep -i version
In 12.10, I have 5.100.82.112, the same as the latest on Broadcom's site. According to the README:
ISSUES FIXED AND WHAT'S NEW IN RECENT RELEASES
    -------------------------------------------
    + Supports monitor mode
    + Supports cfg80211
    + Supports hidden networks
    + Supports rfkill
We might try compiling the newest version.

    Re: WIFI issues Broadcom

Hello, thank you for all your help, and sorry for not getting back earlier but the laptop was at service.
It was a physical fault of the motherboard, and that had to be fixed.
Thanks for all you tries and help.
Very good community and help forum++++ !!!
