Seems ok here on an amd 8150, but labelled a little oddly:

    Code:
    andrew@corinth:~$ uname -a

Re: Kernel 3.7 and AMD cpu's

No problems for me at all, but my CPU is pretty old. Just a single-core Athlon 64, but I am using the 64-bit kernel.

FYI, haven't been able to update for several days due to being under the weather and not able to get to my Raring machine, so this is current info as of last Saturday.

Re: Kernel 3.7 and AMD cpu's

I tried the rc6 yesterday, and I do have the amd-microcode installed, and still no joy.

I should also add that I can't boot the daily live iso either.

All is well but there is some scrambly screen just before plymouth. The white-stripe Unity panel boot is gone and menu tabs on windows are seamless on this ATI radeon-express1250.

Re: Kernel 3.7 and AMD cpu's

installed rc6 , wouldn't boot , added amd 64 microcode still stopping during boot just after attaching my disks , the kernel seems to be alive since I can alt>sysreq>b to reboot and don't need to hard reset , whatever happens right after the disks are attached seems to be the problem . It is the same with the other 3.7 kernels , 3.5 still boots ok .

Re: Kernel 3.7 and AMD cpu's

Same odd naming on an i5, so it's not AMD-specific:

    Linux arrandale 3.7.0-2-generic #8-Ubuntu SMP Thu Nov 15 16:20:48 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
