I'm new, and when I get the notice that there are updates to install I just do it. All Greek to me.

Only had this think pad w530 for a few weeks. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS installed with VESA: NVIDIA GeForce graphics.

After re-starting from the most recent updates the laptop display resolution is lower than before. If I go to the display settings the best I can do is 1024 x 768. I like the nice fine resolution I had before, and want to go back to it, but don't know how.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
