I sometimes get a load of PDF's that I need to rename, when I was using gnome I used gloobus preview to check the file then rename it. Is there a way to get a similar functionality in lubuntu 12.10?

I see Gloobus Preview now has 12.10 package but the PPA I used only works with Marlin and Nautilus file browsers.
