does the ppa created for this operation function well? I want to try this but dont want the whole process to be a headache.
Intel i5 Ivy Bridge 2.8Ghz (3.4Ghz Turbo), 64bit user, AMD GPU 7700 series
I had netflix-desktop installed yesterday, but then I upgraded to 0.2 an hour ago. Now I get sound only when loading a movie.
apt-show-versions netflix-desktop
netflix-desktop/quantal uptodate 0.2.0~quantal
apt-show-versions wine-compholio
wine-compholio 1.5.18~quantal installed: No available version in archive
I tried rm -rf ~/.netflix-desktop, as well as apt-get purging wine-compholio and netflix-desktop, as well as re-adding the ppa. How do I downgrade?
sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop=0.1.0~quantal9

Oh hell, looks like I have some catching up to do... I got the latest update from the ppa and I get the site, I get to browse, but actual playing gives me a black screen and after a while some sound (yay!?).. I've not gone through this thread in it's entirety, thus the footwork ahead. However, I'm glad to see that it's working at all. Awesome! When I get more time, I'll definitely look into this.

WOW!
My socks are officially knocked off.
This is impressive, now I will start getting my moneys worth from my Netflix subscription.
I really hated having to boot Win to use Netflix, this is awesome!

Netflix-desktop returned a wine error with plugin-container.exe on my 32-bit 12.10 laptop, but it works fine on my 12.04 desktop. I did have to enter
pulseaudio -k
to get ungarbled sound, but now I can stream Netflix under Linux!
This. Is. BIG!
