I'm running it on an old laptop (Dell d620... Intel GMA 950, yo) and it seems to work okay. I mean, it's a bit unstable, but when it's not crashing (which happens if I interact with a video too much) it seems to keep a good framerate. There's occasionally a quick audio stutter, but it's pretty tiny.

F11 works fine for me. There is no close button when it's not in full screen, though. There never was for me.

I wonder if that has to do with the fact that you changed the Firefox version.

    Did a test
    Created a new user
    set desktop to Cinnamon
    login
    run winecfg
    download and install firefox 17
install and run windows firefox17, no netflix working

    Then run netflix desktop
    config program runs
loads the app netflix works version 14
    min-max-close all working fine

    Then hit F11, then F10
click help about and update firefox to ver 17
Firefox restarts all working with netflix

    Now close netflix app

Click on earlier Windows firefox 17 full install
runs and works on netfilx with a full browser implementation

    Nice to see it working.

Performance is great for me. Better than using a VM. However I haven't tested on a dual boot and I deleted the Windows partition 2 days ago.

    Re: Netflix On Ubuntu

I discovered that if you delete the .netflix-desktop directory, then when you rerun the Netflix Desktop icon, it registers any existing wine Firefox installs so they will then work with netflix.

I actually prefer having netflix running in a tabbed browser window.
