Netflix on ubuntu runs like a dream, time to delete the windows partition
I did a few test installations (all on fresh Ubuntu installs). The first time, I got the error that VTPoet got. Installing vanilla WINE didn't help. I fixed the problem by purging netflix-desktop, removing ~/.netflix-deskotp/, and reinstalling. The next two installs went without issue. I told Erich about this and he's looking into it.

It works but there is no sound. NOTHING AT ALL.
Works on Xubuntu 12.04 64 bit.
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio
Removed all wine installations, deleted both hidden directories .wine and .netflix-desktop before retrying.
Added ",user_xattr" to the fourth column of the root "/" line in fstab
Then ran sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop
Video is bit choppy but I assuming that from just using on-motherboard video card.

This is great! I'm so happy I can finally watch netflix without kicking a kid off one of the game systems. I was having these problems as well. Tried purge and reinstalling wine and such. What seemed to finally work was when I removed ~/.netflix-desktop, as dniMretsaM mentioned.
Peace

An update was pushed out and afterwards I am having trouble with netflix desktop.
trying to escape full screen I lose all mouse control, mouse is invisible and I can not stop back up or interact with the app or the computer. What I have been doing is logging out and log back in.
Moving the mouse will make the silverlight interactive on screen menus appear but no mouse.
I used to be able to hit F11 to toggle fullscreen.
back to running netflix in the firefox v16 full browser mode as the app is giving me issues.

I tried but cannot get audio out of wine no matter what settings I choose....uninstalling is not a option that would require redownloading steam and 3 games 10Gb total...as well as reinstalling netflix which was a 3 day nightmare.
