Iomega zip 100

I have a iomega zip 100 installed with parallel cable to Abit nf7-s MB, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and installed Synaptic Package Manager's jazip, but do not know any further info on what to do next or how to launch it - or do not know if this is what I need. I need some help to get this working if possible - thanks!

It should be listed under "Computer" in the Unity bar

I ran jazipconfig:
There are currently no entries in /etc/jazip.conf.

There are no Zip devices detected on the system.

There are no Jaz devices detected on the system.

Available commands:
(c)reate an entry from scratch.
(q)uit without saving.
(e)xit and save changes.
?
I check my bios (award) and did not see anything there I think I should change, I have used this when xp was installed. Any other ideas where to begin.

You could try to create an entry from scratch, but I didn't find much information about it, even in it's own manpage.
