Actually there are lot of Differences between chromium and google-chrome .
here you go .
Dont miss anything even it is small. one small pin is enough to bring down a man.
Thanks for the info,,
I take it Chrome is the better choice then...would still like a second opinion.
Cheers Mate
ok can you explain more about your second problem , like what desktop you are using and what exactly you want . an image can help us much rather than explanation .

Ok,,
I am using unity on Ubuntu 12.04.
Im a newbie so bear with me,,after I downloaded chrome 32 bit for debian from a website,,I loaded it through SMC then I had to drag the google chrome icon out from apps onto my desktop,,then when I tried to drag it over to task bar it only copied it there,,the original icon stayed on my desktop,,if delete it,,the one in the taskbar disappears.
I guess its not really a big deal as I have it hidden away in a folder now,,but was wondering why it did not appear in taskbar when I downloaded it from SMC.Im thinking because it is not a supported program maybe??
Sorry so long winded,,noob in action here

It's hard to help when we don't understand what system you're running.
Default Ubuntu doesn't really have a taskbar, it has a launcher on the left and a panel across the top.
Having used Chrome on Ubuntu since 10.XX(I forget which one I installed it on first), and with every version of Ubuntu with the Unity-interface, I've never seen the Chrome icon in the taskbar, or I'm thinking you mean the panel.
But to answer if Chrome runs well on 12.04. Yes, it does.

Don't mind me, I'm only passing through.
Once in a blue moon, I'm actually helpful.
i think you are trying to add chrome icon to your panel .

Ok Great!!
Yes,,I put it in my panel on the left hand side by dragging it there from the desktop work space.Im sorry,,I tried to post a screenshot but the file was not supported. After I put it in my panel,,the original icon remains in my workspace,,and that is what I would like to remove other than just hidding it.
I think I need to drag it from the apps location to the panel in one motion,,I dropped it on my workspace first,,might be the reason why it only would copy?? Hmmmm.. Let me check
Take care my friends, and I really appreciate your replies on Chrome.
