    graphics driver problem

i just had a clean install of mint13cinamon and the first thing i did was to get the drivers for my graphics card using the Ubuntu propriety drivers installer program it fetched me the fglrx driver with no problem but then when i restarted the computer and tried launching the amd catalyst control center it said either the settings are wrong or there is no graphics driver installed i reinstalled the fglrx thing using synaptic this time but still the same so i'm thinking the problem is caused because of the intell graphics chip on the motherboard the guy who sold me this laptop said it has a intell graphics card integrated to the motherboard and also a separate radeon card so i guess i somehow need to tell the computer the radeon one is the card it needs to use how do i do that??
