Red face X freezes on Shuttle XS35V2

    Hi everyone!

I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Shuttle XS35V2 system (it has an Intel Atom D525 with "NM10" integrated graphics), and I observe that after a few minutes, the machine freezes: the mouse stops moving, the screen stops updating.

I can use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to a text terminal and type there, so I know the machine isn't completely toast - yet without graphics it's unusable.

    * Has someone observed the same thing?

    * Which log files should I look into to try to narrow down the culprit?

    * Is there a process I can kill/restart that'll let me continue? If I kill X, I have to log back in.

    Thank you in advance!

Re: X freezes on Shuttle XS35V2

update: running Memtest86+ shows test 7 failing all over the place. I *think* this means the RAM timings are wrong... but I don't see options for the RAM timings in the BIOS. Suggestions?
