entered the wrong wireless password, can't enter new one

I'm trying to connect to a wireless network and I entered the password incorrectly. It searches for a connection for a couple minutes and then stops, but never asks me to re-enter the password. When I click on the network to try and connect again, it starts trying to connect with the old password, but again doesn't ask me to put in a new password.

    Running 12.04 LTS

Click on the network connection icon (Network Manager) in the upper right corner and choose "Edit Connections" from the menu.

From there, you can navigate to the list of wireless networks saved and just delete the one you were trying to join. Click OK, close all of that, then try connecting from scratch and enter the correct password.

The network in question isn't listed there, so I can't delete it. I've also tried to create a new network with the same name, but it automatically adds a "1" to the end of the SSID ("example" becomes "example 1"), so this doesn't work either.
