Can't find all the apps in 12.04

I downloaded the latest iso from the website and booted it up in a virtual box to demo it while at work. When it loaded up, I couldn't find many of the apps that are listed as being included. I checked in HUD and still couldn't find them.

Anyone else havet his issue, or am I doing something wrong?

Could you give examples of apps that are missing? And where do you get that list of included apps?

Superkey + A will open directly into the Dash application menu.

Click on Installed to see a full listing of installed apps.

    Superkey is the windows key.

HUD is completely different from the Dash.

Dash is the system's menu system, and the HUD is the application's menu system, meant to enhance the old standard dropdown menus most programs use.

To find a program or folder or file click on the dash.
To save an already open and used file, click on the HUD.(type save and enter and the save function will run)

I'll have to try again here at home, once I finish the download.

Its taking a while, which is odd since I'm on FiberOptic (iso download says 20 min, torrent says several hours).

I'm new to unity... *shrug* not a huge fan and dont know how to fully utilize it haha

How about on mac, in virtualbox, would command act as superkey?

If you want a traditional menu back to help you out then you could install the ClassicMenu Indicator

    Hope that helps
