whaddup CharlesA? being more grey than anything, i guess my only question would be other than wireshark, nmap,etc.. what are some good tools to use for defense as well? i recently installed metasploit latest community edtion, through the commandline(that was fun, btw) my only gripe is that i have to start it from the cmndline, and there is no icon for it on my launcher that blows big time... any advice on either of these issues?

Write a shell script and lock it to the launcher.

In any case, I've done this ^ if I have a program that only launches via command line. Works fine.
