    Here is the contents of a desktop file created by steam:
    Code:
    [Desktop Entry]
    Name=World of Goo
    GenericName=Steam game
    Comment=Play this game
    Exec=steam steam://rungameid/22000
    Icon=steam_icon_22000
    Terminal=false
    Type=Application
    Categories=Game;
    So, if you know the game's id, you just need to call/start steam like this:
    Code:
    steam steam://rungameid/<game's_id>
    Hope that helps.

    Patch updated and fixed that.
    Been playing it for the last day.

    Anyone else notice there is a bug with text randomly disapearing on the windows but sometimes the descriptions of games also gets jumbled up and sometimes you see weird text in friends chat? Like earlyer today it said for me in the friends panel 15 hours played in big blue text.

    Hello guys.
    I had installed the bumblebee, so I removed it completely, until the source files.

    After I followed all the tutorials above, and got the following (after restart).

    1. Unity 2D (formerly 3D).
    2. Resolution of 800x600
    3. Steam is not found the display 0

    My notebook is a Dell XPS L502X + Nvidia GT540m 2gb with Optirun.

    To both of the last posts. Did you properly install the latest graphics driver? I've no problems at all with a GTX 460. Also probably you are not admitted to the beta tests?

    Yes, but:

    1 - I don't know if I installed the latest driver, just know that I used the scripts provided on the page, to do this automatically for me.

    2 - For some reason xorg / monitors was TOTALLY mangled, and any way I could make it recognize 1366x768 notebook.

    3 - intel drivers were removed, so I was in Unity 2D without any effect.

    After this problem, I tried to uninstall and reinstall everything = not work.

    1 - uninstalled ALL nvidia
    2 - ALL uninstalled the intel
    3 - ALL installed again, did not work.
    4 - BUMBLEBEE installed, did not work.
    5 - I had to format the notebook and reinstall Ubuntu 12.04.

    The reason, I do not know, because I'm not as expert on linux.

    Re: STEAM on Linux BETA

    Currently Optirun is buggy with steam you should try Primus (primusrun) it works with Bumblebee and may eventually replace optirun (it also can run side by side with optirun btw so it's easy to test).

    It also gives better performance than optirun.

    Re: STEAM on Linux BETA

    For Nvidia you can simply install kernel headers and download from nvidia. (I've tried previously also a script which didn't work!)

    Unity of Command: Stalingrad Campaign

    nity of Command: Stalingrad Campaign

    is that a Linux version? It's in the Linux section but only says Win/Mac. I had before Rage but it says not for your platform but I run
    that in Wine. But simultaneously I seem to be able to purchase Windows games?

    Also how to install the special flash within steam? Where/how to leave feedback
    on the beta?
    Thanks
