Hey guys, I had opened steam client (about one hour ago)... I just went into settings and then he just crashed... Trying to run again but.. started download an update.. and now I can't run steam with any option.. I am the only one or..?

Then I deleted the steam.sh from /home/name/Steam/

Je potrebné stiahnuť 155 kB archívov.
Po tejto operácii sa na disku použije ďalších 942 kB.

running 12.10, linux user for about 10 years

I've installed steam, and when I goto a terminal
and type steam - it updates the first time, and then after that nothing ever happens.

tried running in a terminal, clicking the steam file in /usr/bin, etc

any thoughts?

I have the same problem as you play3man. There's been an update tonight and now steam don't run anymore....

Someone has any clues ?

Installed TF2, got a random openGL error... installed the latest Radeon beta drivers and now Steam continuously crashing with a Segmentation fault >.>

edit: installing the 12.10 Catalyst drivers fixed it all up for me... TF2 working like a charm.

orthopod was desktop are you running? in gnome it creates an icon and in those properties it says for command:

/usr/bin/steam %U

Does anyone know how to get the steam client to play the flash videos inside the client?

Yes, when I try and watch a demo of a game. It tells me to download a specific version of flash for steam and sends me to download 11.2 which is the version I all ready have installed.

Since the upgrade, Steam starts and exits. I went to /usr/bin and typed steam %U and got this:
