    Re: STEAM on Linux BETA

I get that installing the PPA stuff from #valve will "Requires installation of untrusted packages. The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources."

How can I correct this? I just want to play TF2!

okay, I did that and the terminal's just sitting there..I restarted, tried to install the updates, and I still get the above.

I guess this is what I get for a beta. lol.

Try it again and if it still fails, copy/paste the terminal output here.

fyi, the main steam site now offers a .deb to Ubuntu users, when you click "install steam". There is no real need for a repo since steam handles it's own updates.

As posted above when i went to check for system updates i got the same message. "The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources."

One of the items listed was Steam. Would this cause problems if you allowed these to update?

Updates won't happen at all will they?

Sounds similar to a problem some people helped me with a few minutes ago: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2096712
Just had to add the gpg key for steam.

    sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys F24AEA9FB05498B7

EDIT: i just noticed youtube works BUT sound is stuttering horribly! Looking at flash install now damn it.
