Is it possible to boot from the live cd, mount a partition and then run a script located on that partition?

boot from the live cd - yes
mount a partition - yes
run a script located on that partition - depends; you can run the script, but then it runs within the live environment; another option would be to chroot into the installed system

it would depend on the script it if it can run with no regard to other process
