    window frames missing

    hi,
upgraded from karmic to lucid. there was some error in installing grub. after completion of the installation used 'apt-get install grub' to install grub.
then i noticed the all windows are opening without the frame which contains 'maximize, minimize and close' buttons. i am not able to drag the windows either.
the windows are alright in failsafe gnome mode. can anybody tell what might be the problem and how do i correct it?

    solved -
i think it was a problem with compiz. i installed compiz and changed the appearance to 'normal'. the window frames appeared alright.

If you or anybody don't want to reinstall Compiz or the like, you can just restart the GTK window frames as a quick and dirty workaround, described in: No Window Decorations with Compiz and Lucid -> http://en.eduard-dopler.de/22/no-window-decorations-with-compiz-and-lucid/
