    USB not booting

I've bought a Silicon Power Touch T01 Mini USB drive. it's a nice drive and reasonably fats for USB2.0 version. However i can not get the computer to boot from it or to be recognised by bios. i wonder if any trick is involved. I was hoping to use it instead of previous portbale progs and live linuxUSB that got washed accidentaly and is not reliable anymore. This one is suppose to be water and dust proof, but i dont' know why it is not recognised by devices.

it functions inside the os though....

Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla
