    Question Speed up games?

    Hi all,
I am playing Torchlight, I don't care about the buggy bits, it runs fine.
I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make it run faster on my hardware. I have 4GB of ram that I use about 1GB of during game play. I also have a GTX460 GPU. Is there anything I can do that doesn't involve reducing rendering quality?

If you are using Unity 3D, not 2D, I think my video will help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODvveVaavj4

you could install a minimal windowmanager, like fluxbox / windowmaker and use that to launch your games to see if there is something to do with your configuration hogging resources [like a compositing manager]
please check out my blog I have a linux tips section
