    Can't find the apps I downloaded/installed

    I installed a few apps (Gimp, among others) via the Ubuntu Software Centre, and they appear to have installed without issue.

    The only problem is that can't locate them in the Dash - or anywhere, for that matter.

    Am I forgetting something?

    Right, so what actually happens when you type "gimp" into the dash.
