12:10 slow to respond

Just downloaded it , I like it a lot but when I left click something it takes a few seconds to respond. Is this fixable or do you have any thought on this. Once it responds to the left click it doesn't seem to stall. When I get to many programs up I have a hard time closing programs I hit the x over and over and nothing happens.

Did you actually install it, or are you running it from a CD or USB? Having "downloaded it" doesn't really tell us which.

I'm currently using ubuntu 12.10 and having the same issue. My rhythmbox sometimes hangs, cant use multiple applications like i've used in 12.04. But I'm currently having both windows and Ubuntu in my system. Does it matter... ?
My System configuration:
Processor : Core 2 Quad (4 x 2.66 GHz)
RAM: 4 GB
Graphic card: Nvidea GEForce 6400 (512 MB)
HD: Seagate 1TB drive

AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 Processor × 3 with 4 gigs , this is the fifth ubuntu I've had on my different computers.
