Huge bottom bar after upgrade to 12.10 in Gnome Shell

I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and now in Gnome Shell instead the tiny transparent bottom bar I have a huge and ugly bottom bar.

I can see nothing better than previous bar. It's ugly, it takes more time to show than the previous and it move all my windows upwards when it appears.

Is it possible to configure the bottom bar like it was in Precise Pangoline?

    Thank you

i dont use gnome-shell, but try to right click on that bar to see if there is a "preference" setting, or look at dconf-editor for tweaking.

I tried with right click but it doesn't work.
In dconf I found org.gnome.desktop.interface.toolbar-icons-size and I changed it from large to small, but nothing happens. Maybe it needs a restart?
