    Moving Main Install

Morning all, have a question was hoping you all may be able to point me to answer. I would not consider myself a total noob, but this is something I have yet to try or do. I (like many I am sure) started out with a brand new laptop running MS Windows XP Pro. Promptly installed Ubuntu on its own partition and have been dual booting like this for many, many moons and through many various laptops and versions of Ubuntu. I am currently running 12.04 and have everything up to date, and I think I am ready to take my windows partition off the computer, but am not yet ready to have it gone. I would like to move the installation of Windows XPPro to a Virtual state then have my Ubuntu install take over the entire laptop and load the Virtual XPPro back into my total Ubuntu Laptop. Any one with some guidance or advice on trying to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

but the easiest way is to format its installation ( not used winblow since 2007 here as wine can run the rare exe still used)
