Alesis Multimix USB 2.0 8 channel
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone had gotten the USB 2.0 version of the Alesis multimix (not the 1.1 version) to work in any of the flavours or versions of ubuntu (particularly normal and studio ubuntu.
I'm planning on getting this device at some point and would like the heads up on whether it may possibly work before I drop some coin.
Cheers.

It won't work as it should. It's an USB2 device and there are no class compliant USB2 devices. I suggest to get yourself either an USB1 class compliant device (that doesn't need specific Mac/Windows drivers to run) or a Firewire device that works with FFADO.

Re: Alesis Multimix USB 2.0 8 channel and 16 channel
I was wondering if there has been any change in the support for a product like the Alesis Multi Mix family of mixers when it comes to multitrack recording ability in Linux. Is it now possible to connect a MultiMix 16 to Ardour and have each of the 16 channels be recordable to individual tracks or is it still a 2 track stereo only solution in Linux?

If a post is older than a year or so and hasn't had a new reply in that time, instead of replying to it, create a new thread. In the software world, a lot can change in a very short time, and doing things this way makes it more likely that you will find the best information. You may link to the original discussion in the new thread if you think it may be helpful.
