    recovering my liveusb

Hello, firstly I unsure if there is a right forum for this question, I'm not really sure if it's an ubuntu question at all! But I'm hoping someone out there has a solution.

Ok, so made a liveusb from my 4gb stick back when Precise first came out. I installed, and I've been happily living with ubuntu for almost 6 months now. Then earlier tonight I found myself in need for a portable memory device. Since ubuntu is installed I went off and formatted my liveusb.

    BUT

Now, my 4gig usb stick is only showing around 700meg or space? What happened to that lost space? Is there any way of recovering it (using linux or windows)?

Oh, well don't I feel stupid. And isn't gparted absolutely wonderful!

Turns out it was partitioned, and windows wouldn't de-partition it. But gparted had no probs.
