    Graphics bug

    Hi!

I got a weird graphics bug when I booted my computer today. All text in the OS are either transparent so that you can see the colors from the window underneath or they have a black background (please see screenshots).

I'm running 12.04 32-bit on an Asus ux31a and I have tried kernels 3.2.*, 3.4.* and 3.5.* all with the same results. The problem seems to affect only OS related text/labels as webpages etc. are rendered correctly.

Has anyone any suggestions as to why this is happening and/or what I can do to try to fix it. (Rebooting, restarting compiz/ligthdm does nothing).

    Thank you!

Well, let's start of this help with more specs.

Here is Asus page on the computer mentioned.

    http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Superi...ZENBOOK_UX31A/

    The interesting part is
    a. the chipset, a Intel® HM76 Express Chipset
    b. the GPU, a Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000
