Oracle VM VirtualBox 4.2 Manager Stopped Working

    Dear Members

I was hoping that someone might be able to assist me in
completing the installion of Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS on a virtual machine/ drive.
After six failed attempts -- five on Ubuntu & one on Fedora --
    I feel somewhat deflated?!

I followed the instructions of a gentleman in a YouTube video (see
    below).
The installation process runs fine up to the end where a restart is requested.
I have tried the process with the 32 bit & 64 bit .iso images
    with the same effect --

An error message appears "Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager has stopped working"
[the message further suggest that Windows will close and supply a
    reason for the aborted installation.
No reason for the aborted process appears though?!]

I followed similar installation steps for Fedora Desktop 17
    -- as a comparative test --
    The same error message appears.

Would the hybrid hard drive create any problems in this regard?
I would greatly appreciate some suggestions.

    With thanks,

    BAvidReader
