How to configure Cisco 7942g SIP for asterisk?

I cant find any where how to configure the SIP flashed IP phone, I been blind testing to add the account and the server, but got no results.
I followed this page to flash it to SIP.
And this page to upgrade the firmware.

bottom line, I got the phone as SIP, but cant configure it.

No idea what you did but those guides are pretty thorough, you must have left something out.

What asterisk server are you running? Are the phones successfully registering to the asterisk server? Is the server running on default config as well?

Also, what firmware are you running on the phones now?

The guides were very thorough in the flashing stage of the phones but didn't provide as in depth information on how to configure your asterisk server as it did for flashing the phones.
