+ let me add that the "try without installing" option worked perfectly fine. So i really won't know what the problem is.

At what point did this happen?
Please describe your computer: CPU, memory, video card, anything unusual about it.
Ditto here: I think something to do with
/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity. It crashes around the time settings...(which TZ dialoguebox)
"ubiquity crashed with ValueError in raw_decode(): No JSON object could be decoded"
Ubiquity 2.10.16

An older computer with MSI motherboard, ahtlon xp 2500, 768Mb DDR ram, Ati radeon 9700 pro.
Nothing special with it except that its old.
Used to run Ubuntu for the last 5 years or so without serious problems.
It started before the installation itself started, so the previous distro i had installed was still working. It crashed at the moment when Ubuntu installer asks you to confirm your location on the map.
The sam problem with ubiquity happened with me. But also some other stuff written.
I own a Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile, and 11.10 worked normally for me. Also 10.10 which i used previously.

I am having the same exact issue on a fresh install using the standard 32-bit version of Ubuntu 12.04. The processor is also an Athlon XP. I have burned two cds from two different downloads to try and fix the problem. But it happens right after I put in the username and password information for the OS.
PC Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
1 GB RAM
80GB WD 7200 HD
Geforce FX 5200
