    Higher capacity battery for gazp7?

I just got a new Gazelle Professional and I'm getting some rather disappointing battery life (2.5 hrs at best.) I checked to see if System76 themselves sells a higher capacity than the one included stock. As far as I can tell they do not. Has anyone replaced their battery yet? I understand a battery for a Clevo W25AES should fit the gazelle but the model appears rare and isn't mentioned on compatibility lists for parts all that often.

The W25AES is what the Gazelle is. The Sager NP3260 is also a Clevo W25AES.

There are two battery options listed on Clevo's site:

    • Battery life : 300 minutes (UMA mode with 48.84WH battery)
    • Battery life : 380 minutes (UMA mode with 62.16WH battery)

I am not sure if the battery that comes with any of those models is the 48.84 or the 62.16...

In case anyone is curious, I was able to purchase the following battery: http://rjtech.com/shop/index.php?dis...oduct_id=30154. As described by the poster above, there is also a 62.16WH version of the battery. I wish it had been provided as an option straight from System76 but alas.

After tweaking Ubuntu a bit via laptop_mode_tools and Jupiter I probably get about 3.5HR battery life. Not the greatest but much better than before. Hopefully this information helps other gazp7 owners.

I believe there were some power consumption improvements in the kernel shipped with 12.10. If you are not running the latest Ubuntu, maybe upgrading could help.
