    Instalation in 3 Hours???

    Hey Folks,
I have now lubuntu installed on a usb stick in 3 hours, with my modern Laptop .
I put now the stick in a Thin Client 1 Gigaherz CPU and 1000 MB RAM, i386.
But it shows nothing more than the starting Desktop,do you have a good Idea what went wrong?
    Thanks.

3 hours is astonishingly slow. Is this a very old USB 1.1 stick?
Could you explain a bit more about what you mean by "it shows nothing more than the starting Desktop"?

I regularly create bootable images on a 1GB SD card using Unetbootin. It takes about 10 mins

What application did you use to install the iso image onto the usb? Was it unetbootin, universal, ?
The starting lubuntu desktop? You have no icons?

Did you download the iso image from the usb application directly? (unetbootin) or did you download the iso only onto the computer? By it taking 3 hours, it may have been interrupted and be corrupted. Hope not. Wired internet or wireless? Use wired if possible when downloading and installing.
