    Lightbulb upgrade error

trying to upgrade from ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10
enter update-manager -d in the terminal and everything goes fine until i get this error message

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

    This can be caused by:
    * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
    * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
    * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.

the upgrade then stops and my system reverts back to 12.04

Check PPA's that You have "turned on". Especially xorg-egers... I would "turn them off" and try again...

Forgot to say: use ppa-purge to revert from xorg-edgers (if You have it enabled) to mainline...

    Re: upgrade error

I did upgrade testing towards the end of the PP cycle. I tried going from 10.04 and 11.10 to 12.04.

This was the test case I followed

    http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Testi...DesktopUpgrade

    Note the suggested command

    Code:
    update-manager -d -c
It used to work for me. I have no idea what the 'c' option does.

    Regards.
