Post Missing menu bar in applications

    Hi.

I began to search for a solution to this problem but didn't find an answer. Here is my problem:

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 lts, 64bit on a HP Pavilion dv6095ea and with the default unity environment setup.

For some strange reason I can't find a way to get the menu bar to show in many programs such as f. ex. the file explorer. This is often very annoying because many options are only accessible through the menu (I think).

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thank you for helping!

Re: Missing menu bar in applications

All the menu selections that used to be in a window are now in the top panel. Move the cursor to the top panel and it will show the menu selections for the active window.

If you wish to change this and have the menu selections in the window run this command:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get remove indicator-appmenu
Moderation in all things; including moderation.

Ohhh... I see that now! Thank you for the prompt answer.

This is not a problem but rather a change to the look & feel of the environment.
