What is your boot time (grub to login)

I used a stop watch for my laptop and got 29.99 seconds (bootchart would be more accurate)
    CPU: Athlon II 2ghz (64bit)
    RAM: 4gb ddr2
    HDD: 320gb wd black 2.5" WDC WD3200BEKT-00KA9T0
GPU: Nvidia's GeForce 8200M (proprietary driver)
    Kernel: 3.6.1
OS: xubuntu 12.10 64bit (installed from beta 2 iso)

Could a mod make this a poll (because i can't) using options like
    0 to 10 seconds, 11 to 20 seconds, 21 to 30 seconds, etc

No polls anywhere in the forum except the cafe.

I can move it there if you want. Report it and ask for it - also ask if someone would be good enough to add a poll for you.

Or PM me and I'll do it when I have time - it'll be tomorrow now though.

That's about the same here, 10 sec. About five of that is the UEFI BIOS. Wow, that is fast compared to a few years back.

GRUB to Desktop, about 5 sec.

Power on to Browser internet site display way way longer than my 10.1" Asus Transformer/keyboard tablet with Android, similar price range. Now once up, I'm a lot more familiar with Ubuntu/Firefox than the Android.

Running vanilla Ubuntu clean install at beta 2 milestone.

    Acer 1410.

Grub to login screen 28 seconds.

    Login to desktop 12 seconds.

I dont think thats too bad considering the machine specs.
