Frozen Install in Software Center

Hi,

I'm fairly new to Ubuntu as an OS. I was looking through software packages and saw MATLAB and jumped the gun and installed. It turned out to be support for existing MATLAB, which I do not have. It did not have a cancel option and is currently throwing me errors whenever I install packages with sudo apt-get and will not let me install anything through the software center.

Is there any way to remove the MATLAB support installation?
