cp stops after copying only a couple directories

So I'm trying to copy my files from the USB drive thats formated with NTFS over to my internal drive that is ext4.

When I run a cp -rv or a sudo cp -rv to copy all the files over it eventually just stops before every thing is copied over.

No errors or any thing so I'm not sure whats going on.

    try ddrescue.
I assume you have disk or file-system errors.

Something wrong with using the GUI tools that show you the progress?
