Quantal 12.10 Compiz, CCSM burn effect, beam up effect missing

Has any one figured out a way to get the extra effects in CCSM installed?
I have it on 12.04 but, on 12.10 I cannot find any way to get Extra Effects to materialize in CCSM.
I have every available Compiz file installed via SPM and no burn effect.
Thanks to any one that can help with this.

they may all be a part of the compiz-fusion-plugins-extra package, which i see is not available in 12.10

You are right, it is not available in 12.10 and in Precise 12.04 it is listed in the description as "transitional dummy package".
I didn't think it would work on 12.04 but, when I installed it both effects work.

Yet 12.10 doesn't have that one component?!? That just burns me up! LOL!
Hopefully they will add it as I have always loved those 2 effects.
I have open and close set to "burn" and min/max set to "beam up" on everything but, Quantal.
Thanks for your input. Glad to see I am not the only one that has noticed.

I found this and it looks like it was deleted. The Quantal compiz version is 0.9.8.4.
Strangely it looks like in Precise is is both proposed to be deleted as well as base.

I definitely don't want to mix up versions but, I want my burn effect!

Yea, even Blur plugin is not there. It was/is essential component for my desktop expiriance. I like to have my terminal and menus transparent and blured. And that one is in "core" package.

    Somewhat relevant:

It's possible support for some of the effects you were looking for simply was removed.

If you mean Motion Blur, It's still there. But, I am with you I like my effects - all of them!

Ironically that page mentions Wobbly, which is still there. But, animations has an asterisk by it.
Hopefully someone that has the skills will step up and help out on this.

I just now noticed that. I use Rotate Cube.

These effects are essential to our Ubuntu experience!
Hopefully we will see them return in the future.

i really hope somebody does i dont think i will be able to revert compiz to 8.4 forever (I don't use unity)
have not tried that on 12.10 but it worked on 12.04 xfce with xfce 4.10
i use 8.4 so i can drag windows from workplace to workplace and not have the mouse relocate relative to the window

Here's me, wondering if the maintainers of the other DEs might carry on ..,

Perhaps some of the developers of those DEs might take up the slack and help smspillaz out.
