    How to use ubuntu amd64 bit on intel 64 bit processor?

    Hello.

    I want to use ubuntu on my laptop.
    I downloaded amd64 version, and when I install it, the ubuntu say " Error "prefix" is not set. Error, couldn't read file.".
    What can I do?

    The ubuntu 10.04 x64 work great, but 10.10, 11.10, 12.04 not... I want to use 12.04...
    Intel® Dual Core™ B950 2.1GHz
    Anybody help??? I have 8 GB RAM, so needed use x64 bit operating system.

    The problem solved.

    You must turn off the UEFI boot in BIOS.
