12.04.1 and Firewire (FA-101) FFADO works, jack doesn't

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my Edirol FA-101 (firewire audio interface) working in Linux. I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 12.04.1 (downloaded a couple of days ago.).

Basically, with the FA-101 connected and turned on, I start FFADO mixer, and it is recognized. I see Edirol FA-101, sliders, etc.

When I try to start QjackCtl with Driver: firewire, I get the following:

Anyone have any advice on how I can get this working? This is the last thing that I still use my Windows partition for, and obviously, I'd really like to do away with it.

I was haveing same issue with FA-66. What I did is:
1. switch to JACK1
2. Disable d-bus in qjacktl
3. removed pulseaudio-module-jack

First one is the key.

After a while JACK2 stoped working with FFADO. Obviously somewhere something needs to be "restarted". I don't know what.
For 2. and 3. point I've dicovered that is better to be off to minimise JACK crashes etc. Which led to JACK2 not working with FFADO.

After installing JACK1, it works normal with FFADO.

If you have time, troubleshoot JACK2-FFADO issue with the developers.
