No sound in ubuntu 12.04 on Acer 4830tg timlineX

hi folks,

I have ACER 4830TG timlineX,

I recently installed 12.04 64 bit and to my surprise there is no sound . i googled a lot about this issue and tried almost every single method before posting here. (e.g. purging all pusleaudio, reinstalling alsamixer , setting up the EAPD options)

I discovered that if i launch alsamixer->press F6-> select HDA_intel_PCH and then suspend then sound comes back however after restart sound vanishes again mysteriously.

does anyone know abt this issue?

I have a Acer 4830t, and I am having the same issue. I have found that if I shut down the computer instead of restart that the sound seems to work fine. Not the best solution but it is working.
