    Machine Check Error

    Hey Guys,

I think I've made a huge mistake (just bear with the explanation...) and I'm not sure how to fix it. I was trying to get Mac OSX (hackintosh) onto my laptop for some university work with iOS. The Disk Utility wouldn't work (it crashed on opening)... so I booted from a Ubuntu memory stick to try to create the partition from there, I created a HFS+ partition in my unallocated space, and it seemed fine.

Went back into the OSX installation, still couldn't use Disk Utility and it was telling me it needed a GUID Partition Table - so I went back into Linux, and created a new GPT partition table on my hard drive. OSX still won't open the Disk Manager, and now when I try to boot Ubuntu from a USB disk I get "Machine Check Error" and a reboot loop - help? :s

Edit: I'm trying to get Ubuntu reinstalled - I've given up on Mac OSX!
