    Good TV tuner card?

Hello everyone, I haven't been on these forums in awhile. When buying a TV tuner card, if I have HD digital cable, what do I need to get? The TV tuner would be going after the cable box. Do I still need a digital card? I'm looking for a TV tuner card that fills the following things: 1. Works with a digital cable box 2. Has an onboard processor 3. Also has great Windows 7 support
The only thing I know for certain is that I know nothing at all, for certain.

The first and most important question, what country are you in?

I could probably advise you on DVB-T tuners but these are for UK television. I know nothing about how TV works in other countries as all of them use different methods of transmitting TV.

    America, we use NTSC.

But, if the TV tuner is going to be after the cable box, does that matter anymore?

Can anyone personally verify whether the Hauppauge HVR-1600 works? MythTv says it does

I saw enough good reviews, both for Linux and Windows 7, that I ordered it.
