I might be the only person more impressed with the mention of Onkyo speakers an eSata, than the GPU.

Can't imagine this laptops battery life.

Some months ago system76 said it couldn't offer new laptops with Nvidia card because they couldn't work around the new generation of Optimus. What has changed now?

was wondering about that. they didn't mention it. i mean 17" screen and dedicated (?) GPU and only 8 cell battery??!?! what is it 1 hour unplugget time or what?

and funny though they could have gone with AMD/intel hybrid or maybe even AMD/AMD but it seems they didn't went after hybrid at all. if it doesn't have Optimus or any power saving features it's basically just a desktop computer cramped into small space it would seem.

Actually battery life would not be a criteria for someone going for this laptop. It belongs to the "desktop replacement" category which means it's supposed to just sit on a desk and be plugged in most of the time. And maybe taken LAN parties...but a power source is always necessary for this kind.
