It's nice and smooth if I zoom in on the browser to 150%
At 100% to 150% it looks really bad.
It's absolutely fine in Firefox, just Chrome for some reason.

Try enabling cleartype and if that doesn't improve it enough, installing the Ubuntu font family locally should help. You can download it here:
