    How to disable key?

    Hi!

My little sister slapped left key ← on the laptop and now it keeps typing the "<-" sign.

It's so annoying.. when I type e.g. "Test" appears "tset" etc. Really, I can't type any words and repair keyboard is impossible - in service they said "with this model replacing can take 2-3 weeks".

So, I tried to block this key. On Xubuntu works great with xmodmap, on KDE this works only when I type something to text field but doesn't work with any system applets.

Is there other method to permanently disable key ← ?

It sounds like something got moved out of position. Is there a way you can pry it loose and then re-seat it without damaging it?
