Have just seen the new layout for the Forum, it is looking good.
After the initial surprise things are easier to find.
This is on the 'Lingonberry' server.

That was quick.
Well done always nice to see improvements.
And really nice to see the "Notice" that it's about to happen.
Eliminates the 'shock' factor.
BTW: I to have fond memories of the 'Absolute Beginners Area' - a place where noobs can be noobs without too much fear of being beaten to death with manuals. OK, an exaggeration but you get my drift.
But it was the Conky thread where I learned to "man xyz" to see if it's a safe command and learn how to use it.
Good Luck!
MY 2 centsI didn't think it was possible to make this Forum any better than it already is but this is obviously a move to make it easier for us (the Ubuntu Forum users) to use.
Though, from what I can tell, not much is going to change as far a content, what is already there is going to be easier to navigate. (in my opinion)
And on the topic of the "Absolute Beginners" area....when i first came to the Ubuntu Forums, it was the AB area that drew me in (for the same reasons already mentioned).
I have never had a computer related issue, OS or otherwise that I wasn't able to find a solution to on this Forum. I have to admit that it is difficult to even try a Google (or in my case DuckDuckGo) search before coming to this Forum first, but for the sake of principles, I do.
Thank you Ubuntu Forum team for your dedication and support.
Please keep up the great work you are doing.
This looks like a more logical layout. Good idea.
.
Have you tried this search engine:

It's great!
I use DuckDuckGo, for other things too, but not all the time.

Great move.
I think I'll delay my thread for a week to post it on the Desktop Evironment topic.
Part of the joy of using this forum is finding what you want and also finding out about other stuff by browsing around. It looks like the changes should make both easy and fun, AJ
