I updated to 12.10 from 11.04 now I have a strange file directory

    It's usually like this:
    /home/username/Desktop

Now it thinks Home is desktop
and also my user directory is Desktop. Everything I download goes to is saved to the desktop... It seems to think the my home and user dir.

But as writing this post I came to the conclusion what if I were to deleate that user and make a new one to see if the solves the problem.

I'll let you guy/gals know how it went... Please comment while I'm gone thanks

Is there a way to do that without deleting the user?

    Check out contents of ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs
Windows assumes the user is an idiot.
    Linux demands proof.
