Just Give Me the Beans!
When i run the Update Manager for my 10.04 Lucid Lynx system, it prompts me for the 12.04 CD. When i put the CD in, the optical drive just churns and no updates are completed. Why would the 10.04 ask for the 12.04 CD. I am planning to do a fresh install of 12.04 but havent gotten around to it yet.

If you're doing a fresh install, you have to insert the disk and reboot into the disk so you can wipe it and start over.
Backups are amazing. 99% of data loss can be prevented by spending less than $100 on an external drive.
If you have seen an error, there is a good chance someone else has, too. Google is your friend.

Do you have your CDrom checked in SoftwareSources ? Uncheck it.
